Help Sendong Victims this 2012

Though Typhoon Sendong has already left the country for several weeks now, the devastation still remains. The relief efforts and the plight of the victims no longer headlines national news, so it’s more important that we help out this time before everyone forgets about the Sendong victims in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan.

If you’re interested in helping out, here’s a list of needed items, as well as organizations you can donate funds to:

Donating Items

Here’s a list of things most needed at the moment:

clothes
underwear
blankets
mats
pots
pans
cooked food
water

These can be sent to:

Alpha Omega, 2nd floor Chang Building, Tomas Saco, Macasandig, Cagayan De Oro 9000

The Alpha Omega helps out in the Macasandig area, which is one of the hardest hit barangays in Cagayan de Oro.

You can also give to Balai Global, a private initiative that tries to fill in the gaps by offering help wherever it is needed. They urgently need + Php 6000/day to feed about 50 soldiers and a few more relief workers who are doing the groundwork of rescue and rehab. Click here to visit their website.
